So the question of the week (which may actually in fact turn into the question of the month) is what do you find scary? what frightens you? What is your biggest fear? In all fairness I will tell you a few of mine. I first of all want to state that we all have phobias. What they are, and whether we even face them, is part of the reason I am writing this post. I am also going to talk about it on my radio show later blogtalkradio.com/ramblinman.
So for me my biggest fear (I do believe that almost all men have this one) is that I will spend my golden years alone. My kids will be off in their own little worlds, and there will be no one there to share my time with. This scares me most of all I do not want to end up like certain members of my family. They are actually oblivious to there faults and therefore blame others for their lack of ties to the family.
This next one is a bit trifling to me, but I want to put it in here because I want others to see that nothing is too small to talk about. No matter how silly you may feel about it, it is worth getting off your chest. I have a fear that I will die in some remote or secluded area or a place where no one would ever think to look. People will think I just decided to take off with no explanation, and spend the rest of their lives wondering how I could do that. So right here and now…to my kids especially…if something does go wrong and you can’t find me or don’t hear from me I wouldn’t just disappear. (this is actually the fear of crawling under the house and getting bit by some poisonous spider and dying right there. My ex would have thought I just took off without saying good-bye all that time not knowing my lifeless body was underneath her). It is funny because as many time as I did get under the house I never ran into any thing like that. As many times as we got infested with Black Widows they were always in the garage, along the outside of the house. A couple of them actually made it inside, but not for very long.
One of my scariest experiences came when I was a young lad. I was sleeping and I dreamt there was i burglar in my room and he was robbing my strong box. I never had a strong box, but in your dreams a lot of things are possible. Anyway I woke up and I swore I could feet his knife in my back. I didn’t turn over for quite a while, probably just a few minutes but it felt like an hour. I finally decided I didn’t really here anything and if he was really there he was gonna cut or stab me i had to turn around. Of course I found nothing and felt relief and silly all at the same time.
So anyway folks that is me, don’t be scared tell me what it is that frightens you. You can log in to the show at the aforementioned web site or you can actually call in and I will put you on the air that number is 323-443-7258. I would really love to hear form you!!
