As I have said before, there are so many thoughts running through my head that they get a little jumbled. I really do need to start carrying around a pen and a notepad to write things down. I have stated before that while at work it is not always easy to find time to do this. Yet I have no excuse for when I am at home. Except perhaps, the idea that since I am at home I will get it down on paper soon enough, I put it off ’til later. Then “BOOM” just like that the thought is gone. Sometimes they re-appear, but not very often.
Another reason I need to keep pen and pad handy, is all those darn commercials for medications. Medications for ailments, that as I child I/we never heard of. I cannot believe the number of new aches, pains, and what have ya’s that they have come out with now-a-days. Not that I am trying to be a conspiracy theorist here, but don’t you think that maybe we are just keeping big business in business. Especially the pharmaceutical companies.
As for my New Year’s Revolution I am doing ok, not great by any standards. Particularly not mine. It is a work in progress I plan to diligently pursue. In accordance with the promise I made last writing here are two of my latest. The first one “Necessary tears” I wrote back in November early December, the second one “‘Twas the Night Before” I wrote, started writing a couple of weeks ago having finished it last week. I erred earlier I have three. The third poem is one of those that has been sitting on my pad for some time now so no telling when I actually wrote it. It is titled “I See You” (part II). I call it part II, as it is in line with one of the poems “Through Your Eyes” that is in my first book “Pathways”. Anyway here we go I hope you enjoy them.
T’was the Night Before
T’was the night before forever,
not too much on my mind.
As I search my thoughts
there is but one heart that I find.
‘Tis the heart of a woman I so
heavenly adore.
‘tis the one special someone to
whom I present my amore.
T’was the night before forever
I am out on a limb.
Do I keep dangling my heart
do I reel it in?
For this quest I know the answer
is there afore my eyes.
I will bait my heart on my sleeve
Hoping you savor the prize.
Necessary Tears
There are tears of laughter,
and there are tears of pain.
They can flow like the river,
or they can fall like the rain.
There are tears that we hide,
and there are tears that we show.
You learn when to hold back
you know when to let it go.
There will be times when you wish
you could get them to fall.
There will be times when you’ll
wonder why you cry them at all.
Your tears come from the heart,
and they come from the soul.
They seem to be tearing you apart
yet they are making you whole.
We may cry when times are joyous,
we may cry when times are scary.
There are times when it seems futile,
there are times when it is necessary.
I See You (part II)
I hear the smile in your laughter,
It brings me to joyful tears.
I hear the smile in your laughter,
It chases off my fears.
I see the laughter in your eyes,
my heart longs to be all around you.
I see the laughter in your eyes,
My heart does feel anew.
I feel your soul in your smile,
Arousing the strength In me.
I feel your soul in your smile,
Deserving the best I can ever be.
